SUGGESTED ITINERARY
Day 1: Your 3 night Killer Whale Explorer escape starts when you check into Terminal 2 with REX, Perth Domestic Airport. Baggage allowance is 15kg per. Once you land in Albany, collect your booked vehicle at the AVIS desk at the Albany Airport. Once you’ve got your keys and luggage, make your way to the Ace Albany.
Day 2: An early start this morning (we promise it's worth it) find your way to the Visitor Centre for pickup. Begin your tour with an exciting and informative multimedia presentation detailing killer whale biology and ecology, as well as information about the other marine life you may encounter. Then, sail to the only location in Australia where you can reliably encounter killer whales in the wild, a journey of around 1.5 hours. The crew lives, breathes and thrives on respecting the environment, and having fun on the water. We're passionate about creating extraordinary experiences for our guests, keeping you safe, and educating you along the way.
Every expedition is led by a qualified marine biologist with extensive knowledge and experience in local marine ecology, wildlife and environmental education. Their deep knowledge of the ocean and its inhabitants allows them to deliver informative, educational experiences to guests of all backgrounds. Your day of unforgettable encounters is fully catered, with morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea provided, and unlimited hot and cold beverages are available. After a day at sea, relax in comfort, enjoy a nap and let Busy Blue Bus take care of the driving, returning you safely to Albany after an exhilarating day.
Day 3: Enjoy a leisurely start to your morning and perhaps a visit to the Brig Amity and the Museum of the Great Southern, offering a fascinating insight into Albany's Noongar heritage and the stories of the Minang People. Your afternoon is free to visit Albany’s most popular attraction, The National Anzac Centre (included in your package) and experience one of Australia’s most important cultural pilgrimages. Immerse yourself in the Anzac Legend and follow personal stories through state of the art technology, multimedia and historic artefacts. Prepare to remember, learn and explore.
This evening enjoy dinner at Dylans on the Terrace with friends as you choose from their delectable range of a la carte menu, house made desserts and fresh roasted coffee. Please note that it is fully BYO so ensure you pack your favourite vino.
Day 4: After fuelling up with a scrumptious breakfast at Ryan’s Restaurant, check out of The Ace before exploring a little more on The Amazing South Coast all within a short scenic drive. If time permits take a visit to Mt Romance and sample the heady scents of Sandalwood products. All too soon, it's time to head back to Albany Airport with wonderful memories... until next time.
NB Rain is possible, and you should expect at least a 1-2m swell on your expedition. The southern ocean is never completely calm. Expeditions will still depart if it is raining and/or the sea is rough, the whales don’t mind! We recommend bringing a waterproof jacket and extra warm clothing with you as you may get wet from sea spray even if it doesn’t rain. Of course if weather conditions do not allow visibility or are unsafe, an expedition will be cancelled. You will receive an option to rebook or be refunded for the cost of the expedition. A decision cannot be made until closer to time, please discuss this further with the Amazing South Coast Booking Officer if you have queries.
Bookings must be made more than 14 days ahead of intended travel dates. This package is non refundable. Changes to dates will incur a $282 amendment fee per person after itineraries have been sent. A fee of $33 applies per flight per name change.
